The University of Ljubljana is the oldest and largest higher education and scientific research institution in Slovenia. University with its rich tradition was founded in 1919. It has more than 40.000 undergraduate and postgraduate students and employs approximately 5.600 higher education teachers, researchers, assistants and administrative staff in 23 faculties and three arts academies. The central building, all three academies and faculties are located in the centre. Some of the most recent and modern buildings were constructed on the outskirts of Ljubljana, giving the university and its students a ubiquitous presence in the city. The University of Ljubljana is renowned for its quality social and natural sciences and technical study programmes, structured in accordance with the Bologna Declaration. Our projects keep pace with the latest developments in the areas of arts, sciences and technology at home and abroad.  The University of Ljubljana is listed amongst the top 500 universities in the world according to the ARWU Shanghai, Times THES-QS and WEBOMETRICS rankings. The University of Ljubljana is the central and largest educational institution in Slovenia. danica rotar pavlic

Associate Professor Danica Rotar Pavlic, MD, PhD

Coordinator from Slovenia, Department of family medicine, Medical, Faculty, University of Ljubljana

Danica Rotar Pavlic is the president of Slovenian Association of Family Doctors. She graduated at the University of Ljubljana, Medical faculty in 1989. She is a teacher at the Department of Family Medicine, Medical Faculty, and University of Ljubljana. She was the coordinator of Slovenian branch of  QUALICOPC study (Quality and Costs of Primary Care in Europe). She was actively involved in IMPROVE project (Improvement of Patient Involvement in Medical Care), PREDICT in which a large cohort of 6000 patients was followed and checked  and PHAMEU project. (Primary Health Care Activity Monitor for Europe 2003-2008).

 

 

Associate Dr. Erika ZELKO, MD, PhD
Erika Zelko

Researcher from Slovenia, Department of family medicine, Medical Faculty Maribor

Erika Zelko is a Family Doctor. She graduated at the University of Ljubljana, Medical faculty in 1994. She is a teacher at the Department of Family Medicine, Medical Faculty, and University of Maribor  and  ECM  Maribor. She is a slovenian representativ iin EQUIP. Her special interest in research are  preventiv medicine, health of minorities and quality of work on primary care level of population.  She was actively involved in  SASTIPE and ŽIVIMO ZDRAVO project in Slovenia.  She has authored/co-authored several scientific papers, articles published in indexed journals, as well as chapters in edited volumes.

 

 

VESNA HOMARAssistant Professor Vesna Homar, MD

Vesna Homar is a Family Doctor. She graduated at the University of Ljubljana, Medical Faculty, in 2003. She is an Assistant Professor and a post-graduate researcher at the Department of family medicine at the University of Ljubljana. She is the head of Vrhnika Medical Health Center Emergency unit and Health care coordinator of Vrhnika Migrant Center. Her fields of interest and expertise are acute primary care and medical education.

 

 

 

Eva Vicic

EVA VIČIČ, MD

Eva Vičič is a family medicine resident since 2015. She graduated at the Medical faculty University of Ljubljana in 2014. During her studies she was engaged in several exchange programmes, including an extracurricular clinical rotation in psychiatry in Canada and in family medicine in Germany. She was also a delegate for Slovenia in Vienna at the Intensive Programme for family medicine entitled Primary Health Care, diversity and variation: our solution for a healthy Europe. During her medical training she also conducted a research study about the prevalence of depression in retirement homes in Slovenia and how to better recognise it using the Geriatric Depression Scale.

 

 

Alem Maksuti, PhDc
Alem Maksuti

Alem Maksuti is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana. He has experience with international research projects and networks, either as co-responsible or as a researcher. The Slovenian research agency, European Union’s FP6 framework, and European Science Foundation of the European Union have funded past projects he worked on. His broader research interests lie in the areas of qualitative methodology, political communication, political participation, political culture, election campaigns, political parties and party preferences, voting behaviour, citizenship education, policy analysis, and evaluation studies. He has authored/co-authored one monograph, several scientific papers, articles published in indexed journals, as well as chapters in edited volumes.
